Garam masala amaranth porridge

I wanted to write: if you’ll ever get bored of oatmeal… but that’s not possible! However I encourage you to try this alternative – amaranth porridge with garam masala caramelized pear and chia pudding. Perfect winter breakfast. You will not be disappointed!


  • 100 g cooked amaranth
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder(optional)
  • 1 small banana, chopped or mashed
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 50-100 ml plant milk
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup


Mix all ingredients in a small saucepan and cook on low heat until you reach desired consistency. Heat up a pan and toast sliced pear on medium heat for a while. Add garam masala spice and maple syrup. Transfer your porridge to the bowl and top up with fruits and toasted sesame seeds.
